Kevin Hart’s consistency with breath-breaking and diaphragm-shaking performances left a lot of people holding their stomach with yet another entry. It grossed over 11 million on its opening weekend which is quite promising. Currently it has attained third spot on weekend box office. At any rate, taking an overview of this stand-up special; Kevin has definitely kicked things up a notch or two maybe! There are many unique and unparalleled elements attached to this performance. One of the most interesting part of this performance is that it has been filmed outdoors in front of more than 50,000 people. Not only is it a whole new level for Kevin himself but also making him the first ever comedian to perform to an at-capacity football stadium. This film is very special for a lot of his fans, as Kevin is back to his hometown for this epic and one of a kind performance. The magnitude of this performance might shy any other in the comedy film world but any aspects of this mammoth show still calls for improvement.
The James Bond parody was definitely something fans liked a lot. And with someone like Kevin who is always thinking of new and out of the box methodology for his performances can make even the most serious thrillers funny. Hallie Berry has once again amazed us all by showing how awesome and completely unpredictable artist she is; she proved that she can be incredibly funny given the chance. However, packed with strong cast and perfectly crafted witticism, many still argued that the show was still a little unoriginal as it scooped a great big part from the ‘Bond’ franchise.
From the start to the end, Hart’s signature presentation remained consistent like always; breathless, loud and ecstatic. Hart’s performance lost some moment when he reiterated jokes from previous specials but recovered quickly by landing very quick and funny anecdotes. Kevin’s true brilliance was still his vivid and genuine storytelling, which makes audience feel like the whole thing went right in front of them. Like always he made some references back to his life and family in his jokes which supplemented in the originality of the whole experience.
All in a nutshell, ‘What now?’ is definitely a ground-breaking performance and Hart has left most in awe. Yes, most definitely the quality of the whole performance might not be the best ever, but it’s still very good and captivating.
