Madrid is not only known for its culture, tradition and great historical and cultural monuments; this amazing city in Spain attracts tourists from all around the world for so many other reasons. It is a vibrant metropolitan city with several pubs, discotheques, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs.

Let’s have a look at some of the things one can enjoy while in Madrid.

Nightlife

The best thing about Madrid is its liveliness and charm. Many people go to Madrid only for the sake of having a great nightlife experience as this city’s nightlife has something to offer to everyone, no matter what their taste and preferences may be. It is bound to leave you satisfied.

If you have a car and want to go to the most chic bars, pubs, taverns and cafes in the city, you should think about going to Santa Ana or Huertas. Alonso Martinez and Bilbao are where one would find the best discotheque in the city. While Argüelles and Moncloa  are usually where college students hang out for fun.

During winters people tend to take pleasure in the more traditional side of the city. Most of the traditional cafés in the city are adorned in the famous “La Belle Epoque” style. This is where writers and poets meet. Cefe Gijon is one such place.

During summers, people tend to enjoy hanging out at the terraces for drinks till late night. Some of the most famous terraces include Paseo de la Castellana and Gran Via.

Fine Dining

To really know a place, one should try the food and drinks there.

That being said, when in Madrid, one should definitely not miss the chance of dining at the world’s oldest restaurant Botín. Dassa Bassa, El Chaflan, Café de Oriente and Kabuki restaurant are one of the few best restaurants in Madrid.

Do not forget to try Cochinillo Asado, Pulpo a la Gallega, Gambas Ajillo and Paella as they are some of the most appetizing Spanish dishes.

One can take a professional wine tour if they wish to experience Spain’s wonderful wine-producing region.

To try the fresh produce of Spain, try going to the Alimentos de Madrid shop as it specializes in traditional cuisine including the finest wines, liqueurs, olive oil, cheeses, strawberries and fresh asparagus.

Other Attractions

The main attractions in Madrid are beautiful parks, historical monuments and classy art galleries. The Prado is one of the best art galleries in the world that is said to have one of the biggest art compilations in the world. Madrid El Retiro Park is another famous attraction of the city. The park was allegedly  built on the orders of the King Felipe IV, who got it constructed in the year 1632 as an extension of his Palace. One should definitely take some time out to see Corral de la Moreri which is the most famed tablao flamenco, not only in Europe but all around the world.

Other places to visit are the National Archeological Museum, El Rey Leon, La Taberna de Mister Pinkleton, Parque El Capricho and the Royal Palace of Madrid.
