TOP 10 SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOWS

Superbowl is a football extravaganza that makes the adrenaline rush going with players competing out in the field and fans cheering them. But the Half-time shows have always been the much awaited ones too where the musical greats spread their magic. Here is the list of top 10 such shows:

  • Aerosmith, ‘N Sync & Britney Spears (2001)
    A spectacular start of 2001 Super Bowl’s halftime with Aerosmith and ‘N Sync performing “Bye, Bye, Bye” and other hits got more sizzling as Britney Spears shared the stage. Along with Mary J. Blige and Nelly, the performance of “Walk This Way” is one the most memorable super bowl songs.
  • Michael Jackson (2009)
    The king of Pop ruled the Super Bowl Stage truly like a king when he mesmerized the crown with his medley of “Black or White”, “Jam” and “Billy Jean”. The crowd seemed goin crazy as he continued his magic and concluded the show with “Heal the World”. A memorable night.
  • Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake (2004)
    The Janet and Justin duo presented a spectacular show that made the 2004 Super Bowl halftime rocking. But it is the “Famous” wardrobe malfunction for which, unfortunately, the show was remembered most. But those who witnessed the show, know it was much more than those few seconds.
  • The Rolling Stone (2006)
    A famously created tongue shaped stage and with Mick Jagger and Keith Risshard doing what they always have done best, rocking the crowd, the show was a must witness. They played their most popular “Start Me Up” and “Satisfaction” which guaranteed a satisfaction of a lifetime in that period of half time.
  • Paul McCartney (2005)
    Paul McCartney came with fantastic energy, performed with the same and when he left, he transferred it to the huge crowd present there. Performing his greatest hits and ending the show with “Hey Jude”, he gave a memorable super bowl half-time show.
  • Beyonce (2013)
    Beyonce sizzled the stage with her performance in 2013 Superbowl Half-time show. Performing hits like “Single Ladies” and “Crazy In Love”, she put the stage on fire with her mesmerizing presence and superb performance and innovative animation screens.
  • Madonna (2012)
    Madonna in her gladiatorial get-up, amidst Roman Soldiers and accompanied in between by LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A and Cee Lo Green, made the whole crowd go crazy. Hits like “Vogue”, “Gimme Your Luvin” and “Like A Prayer” created magical on and off stage environment.
  • Prince (2007)
    Performing on his own and other’s hits like “Let’s Go Crazy” and “All along the Watchtower”, Prince made the crown feel ecstatic with his guitar playing. Ending the show with “Purple Rain”, the stream of waving hands and ear deafening howls could be heard and seen in whole stadium.
  • Bruce Springsteen (2014)
    A 12 minute long rock Tampa was all that Superbowl 2014 half-time needed. Bruce created the magic on stage with his performance. Songs like “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out” and “Born To Run” was worth everything, making it one of the best Super Bowl performances.
  • U2 (2002)
    U2 brought all the emotions alive after starting off with “Beautiful Day” and paying a tribute to 9/11 victims. “Where The Streets Have No Names” moistened every eye in the stadium and made it one of the most memorable Superbowl shows of all time.
